Shrine of the Storms Mythic Plus Healing Guide
First, there is a runback shortcut that most groups are not aware of. After the first boss, there are two packs of mobs. Make sure to kill the one on the left (that many groups skip), as it gives access to the skip. The brazier behind that pack will become clickable to port you across the water. After the second boss is dead, make sure to then kill the pack on the left – behind that group is the other end of the brazier port. If you are worried you might wipe on the second boss, you can run past the boss, and kill the pack after the second boss, to enable a quick run back.
Aqu’sirr
Dispel Choking Brine on players when they are (hopefully) out of the group, as this helps ensure others won’t stand in the animation and get it on themselves.
The most deadly mechanic is not moving out from the charge from the boss or the adds. It will one shot on tyrannical and higher fortified keys.
Tidesage Council
This boss fight is probably the most problematic one, especially for pugs.
Make sure to have an interrupt rotation to interrupt Slicing Blast on Galecaller Faye. This does make comps with mostly long interrupt CDs harder, as the debuff stacks.
You need to make sure players are standing in the runes when they spawn, and the tank removes the bosses from the runes, as one of the runes clears the stacks and gives a damage reduction and the other gives a haste buff and removes slows.
Most of the damage is caused by the stacks and Hindering Cleave, which is on tanks but DPS can sometimes be hit with it when they are not paying attention to positioning.
You also need to watch for those being hit by tornadoes and spot heal them.
Lord Stormsong
Make sure no one is slowing or stunning the player that gets MC’d. Players can also pop immunities or damage reductions to soak orbs if you end up getting a lot of them.
Vol’zith the Whisperer
Whispers of Power is a buff that is given to the healer on this boss fight – do not dispel this immediately, as it will show up on your frames as showing dispellable. It stacks to increase power, but for every stack, it reduces health by 10%. It caps at 9 stacks, so it cannot kill you by itself, but taking any damage from avoidable damage such as a tentacle slam will easily kill you without an immunity.
When the healer has a Whispers of Power buff, it will randomly another one on a dps or the tank, so healers should try not to dispel it before the second one goes out.
Grasp of the Sunken City
Make sure you have the DPS topped off before heading into the Grasp of the Sunken City phase, as they will be forced to rely on personals if they fail mechanics.
During the Grasp of the Sunken City phase, healers need to DPS the add down, tanks generally will kite the add as it hits quite hard. Having the Whispers of Power buff will make this easy, but be careful to avoid tentacle slams.
Make sure the DPS are interrupting the cast on each add. You can interrupt at the very end of the cast. You generally burst one add down and make sure range is interrupting the far add.
If any DPS die during this phase, it is probably failing to avoid the tentacle slams or a missed interrupt.
The adds that spawn after you come back from the Sunken City phase do a bursting effect when they die or are absorbed by the boss. You should be careful the DPS don’t burst them immediately and wipe the group. You can kite them, and they will despawn when you go down to the next Sunken City phase.
