Blizzard believes absorb heals are still too strong

5.3 saw some nerfs for both holy paladins and disc priests.  Even post-5.3, those two classes are still pretty powerful, and the devs have commented that they feel that absorbs are still too strong.

we did nerf both Discipline and Holy paladins in 5.3, but our suspicion overall is that absorbs are still too potent and prominent.

We will probably have to wait for PTR to be able to see what will get nerfed or changed, however, but it is good they are looking at addressing the issue of absorbs and shields, especially for those classes who are trying to heal against disc priests and paladins.
