The Fallen Protectors Detailed Strategy Guide (incl Heroic) for Healers
The Fallen Protectors is the second boss in Siege of Orgrimmar.
Mark of Anguish is similar to the Sha of Fear ball (Pure Light) that roots a player in place until they throw it to another raid member. If a player dies while holding Mark of Anguish, it will transfer to another player, so you can’t have a player suicide and brez them to negate the mechanic.
Shadow Word:Bane needs dispelling, as it does a significant amount of damage, and it jumps to additional targets every 3 seconds, and can quickly overwhelm if you have healers lazy on dispelling. It is magic, so all healers can dispel it.
He Softfoot does a Noxious Poison effect which causes poison to pool on the ground – it can be jumped over. However, it does inflict a high amount of damage for those who don’t move out of it.
Sha Sear needs to be interrupted or not be within 5 yards of the boss. If it is not, it increases shadow damage to players within 5 yards of Sun Tenderheart.
Heroic Mode
Calamity increases by an additional 10% of maximum health every time it is cast, which requires intensive healing especially when it is higher. It will reset back to 30% of maximum health when Sun Tenderheart does Desperate Measures.
Noxious Poison does significantly more damage (220k per second) so moving out of them immediately is crucial.
During Rook Stonetoe’s Desperate Measures, his three spirits he spawns all share health pools, so you can’t DPS down the worst spirit first.
